KUMAY 13 mm Lever Belt

Premium Leather Construction, Zinc-Alloy Lever Buckle and Personalized Sizing Support

Premium construction without the premium-brand markup.

Designed for lifters who demand dependable support, precise fit and long-term durability, the KUMAY Lever Belt combines carefully selected leather, a robust zinc-alloy buckle and refined edge finishing in one serious training belt.

Whether you are preparing for your first heavy squat or have years of strength-training experience, this belt is built to provide stable, consistent support under load.

We do not believe a lifting belt should be judged by its logo alone.

A dependable belt must bring together:

  • Structural support
  • Reliable hardware
  • Carefully selected leather
  • Accurate sizing
  • Comfortable edge finishing
  • Consistent manufacturing
  • Responsible after-sales service

You are not simply purchasing a belt. You are purchasing the materials, workmanship, safety considerations and experience behind it.

1. Heavy-Duty Zinc-Alloy Lever Buckle

The buckle is one of the most critical components of any lever belt.

KUMAY lever buckles are made from zinc alloy, a material well suited to precision die-casting because of its combination of strength, toughness and manufacturing consistency.

Lower-cost lever buckles are sometimes produced from softer and more brittle white-metal alloys. These materials may be more vulnerable to casting defects, internal porosity, drilling damage or premature cracking.

A buckle failure during a heavy squat or deadlift is not merely inconvenient. It may cause the lifter to lose bracing and positioning unexpectedly.

For this reason, we selected zinc alloy rather than choosing hardware solely on the basis of the lowest possible production cost.

Why zinc alloy?

  • Higher mechanical strength than many low-cost white-metal castings
  • Better toughness and resistance to sudden fracture
  • More consistent die-casting performance
  • Greater durability through repeated opening and closing
  • Better suited to long-term strength-training use

Based on its material properties and structural geometry, the KUMAY buckle is designed to provide a substantial safety margin compared with inexpensive, thin-section cast buckles.

2. Secure and Proven Lever Adjustment

The KUMAY Standard Lever Buckle uses a simple and proven mounting system.

To change the belt setting, loosen the mounting screws with a Phillips screwdriver, reposition the buckle and securely reinstall the screws.

Once properly adjusted, the lever allows the belt to be opened and closed quickly while returning to the same preferred tightness for each training session.

This system is ideal for lifters who:

  • Usually train at a relatively consistent body weight
  • Prefer repeatable belt tension
  • Want a straightforward and dependable mechanism
  • Do not need to change their belt setting during every workout

Always use a correctly sized Phillips screwdriver. Apply firm downward pressure while turning to reduce the risk of damaging the screw head.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a 13 mm belt suitable for beginners?

Yes, provided the athlete understands how to brace correctly and is comfortable with a firmer belt.

A 13 mm belt offers substantial support, but it will generally feel stiffer than a thinner recreational belt. Beginners who intend to continue serious strength training may appreciate its long-term stability.

Does the belt need to be extremely tight?

No.

The belt should be tight enough to give your abdominal wall a firm surface to brace against, but it should not prevent you from breathing or establishing your starting position.

The correct tension may differ between squats, deadlifts and other movements.

Should I size down for a tighter fit?

No.

Do not intentionally order a smaller size to make the belt feel tighter. The buckle position determines the tightness. The belt size determines whether you have a safe and useful adjustment range.

Can I change the buckle setting?

Yes.

Loosen the mounting screws with a correctly sized Phillips screwdriver, reposition the buckle and securely reinstall the screws.

Most lifters do not need to change the setting frequently once the correct position has been established.

Will the belt become softer?

All genuine leather belts break in gradually with use.

The belt should become more comfortable and conform more closely to your body while retaining useful structural support. Break-in speed will vary depending on training frequency, storage conditions and the user’s body shape.

How should I store it?

Store the belt in a dry, ventilated area.

Avoid:

  • High humidity
  • Prolonged direct sunlight
  • Leaving it inside a hot vehicle
  • Folding it sharply
  • Storing it while wet with sweat
  • Applying unsuitable household oils or chemical cleaners

After training, allow the belt to air-dry naturally before storage.
